Grammar
For movement in Norwegian, it is important to choose the verb according to the way of moving and the situation. å gå usually means to go on foot: Jeg går til skolen. å kjøre is used when talking about a car or another vehicle being operated: Han kjører til jobb. å reise more often refers to a trip or travel in general, without emphasizing the method: Vi reiser til Trondheim. å dra often means to set off or leave a place: Jeg drar nå. å komme shows arrival: Hun kommer hjem sent. For direction, til is often used: til skolen, til jobb, til Oslo. If the movement goes inward, a combination with inn or the verb å gå inn is often used: Jeg går inn i butikken. The word hjem is usually used without til: Jeg kommer hjem, not kommer til hjem.
